Frannie's greatest attribute is her laid-back affectionate demeanor. She would sleep in your lap all day if you let her and she is fine with being completely manhandled; pull on her tail, her feet, her ears, etc. and she barely glances in your direction. She readily allows you to pet her while she is eating and take bones right out of her mouth. She was at my parents house for x-mas where she met my 2 yr-old nephew. She was wonderful with him, letting him give her big bear hugs and lots of petting, and she gave him lots of doggie kisses in return. She only jumps up on people on very rare occasions, maybe if you have a piece of steak in your hand....but even then, probably not. She walks really well on leash, rarely pulls with just a basic buckle collar on. She rides really well in the car, sleeping for the entire 3 hr drive home last weekend. She is smart too. In just a few short weeks with me she has mastered, sit, down, wait (at the door), go potty, and come when her name is called. She starts Begginer Doggy School on Jan 11th so stay tuned for her future accomplishments.

She is a little timid of new dogs, for about 2.5 seconds, when they first meet but then runs and plays with the best of them. She especially has fun playing with Kya, my 7mo IBR English Setter Mix. Those two get along very well. Just last night Kya was merrily chewing a bone that she had ever so delicately propped up on Frannie's butt for a prime munching angle and Frannie just sat there and let her get away with it.
Also, while at my parents house for x-mas, she met my mom's 5mo-old Bischon puppy, who is nothing short of obnoxious, Frannie took all of his in-your-face puppy bites in stride. He was clamped on to one of her ears for most of the weekend and she didn't seem to mind one bit.

I think Frannie would do best in a multiple dog household or in a home where someone was home with her most of the time. She does not like to be left alone and will cry until she breaks your heart if you do leave her. When we leave her with Kya she doesn't cry at all, so the company of another dog is enough to keep her happy during the times when you can not be home with her. She is finally over her fear of dog crates and stays in one comfortably next to Kya while we are at work all day.

She almost has the potty training thing down. She used to have a few pee accidents while we were at work, but now that she is OK with being crated, she has been accident free for 1 whole week!! I know she is going to get there soon so don't let this minor flaw stop you from inviting her in to your home. She is a people dog, and although she likes to play with other dogs, would usually choose being petted, or cuddled by a human over rough-housing with another dog. She has giant brown puppy eyes that will melt your heart. And a very gentle disposition. Can you find room in your heart to give her a forever home?
